Another fab and fine morning. WFW but still not doing anything particularly useful. Can't seem to get the old grey cells working at capacity. If all else fails I'll just walk with purpose whilst carrying a few sheets of paper, my phone and a biro....

Most had an ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) as adults.
I am the only one now attending who had one when young (18 months old), so it's a reality I've only ever really known.

I couldn't even ride a bike until I was about 8.

Ah, interesting, MDB. If the ABI ones are anything like me, it's the coming to terms with how fragile you realise 'you' are, and working with your brain as it is, not as it used to be. It's sobering reading my early post-injury FB posts now, when I obviously didn't realise quite the length of the journey, or the ups & downs.

But hey ho, this subject probably belongs elsewhere, but well done to you for being helping out with your local group.

Anyway, back on subject, the weather's keeping me guessing and putting me off orchid hunting up the valley, so I've taken the Jotul 602 out onto the balcony to prepare it for a light respray of black - first time I've done it since getting the stove about 38 years ago.

Oh well I didn't approve the holiday so not my fault or problem. Sungod why have extinguished the sun, positively grey and cold here.

sun is working fine here, exposed metal etc. is hot enough to cause burns

it's also so hot that it's making my bluetooth earbuds shut down, which is annoying, have to revert to wired ones and hope the phone doesn't explode in the heat

but then they are sacrificing pineapples every day to ensure absence of cloud

passing the time as the showers pass... mightn't leave it 38 years before I do it again.

Next up is replacing the seals and fire cement and in the internal flue. A trip to the local DIY place is needed. I swept the chimney at Easter, so all should then be good for next Christmas. Just need to get another couple of cubic metres of wood into storage for the following winter, so it's good and dry by then.
