We've just had a heavy shower in Plymouth. The sky is now full of cloud and it's drizzling. A long drizzle should do the soil a lot of good. The worry around here was that we'd get heavy rain which wouldn't soak in and would just run off

What is this drizzle thing you speak of?

Morning People,

Today is my Friday again, enjoying a series of 4 day weeks over the summer. Thought I'd traipse up to the office as there's some leaving drinks after work and I can enjoy the free air con in the meantime. I hope it'll rain soon as the lawn is a desert now and the hounds have taken to giving themselves dirt baths, which pleases Mrs. 666 no end ^_^

Woo freedom.
Slight drizzle overnight here as well but nothing that's going to help the fire brigade out on the moors.
Dropped the boy at hospital for his shoulder opp this morning, he's bricking it, then went to the gym before work and with a touch of irony did shoulders and chest.
B-I-L is round for dinner this evening so I expect a fairly slow start tomorrow, then out on Friday for a meal so Saturday may just about stall its engine.

After yesterday's return of the mac, it's back to the old routine today.

Nothing planned, maybe cut the grass, trim a bush, harvest the rhubarb, feed something else's cats and if I'm really lucky, go to the supermarket.

Quite sore from my 10k yesterday, but if DD2 wants to run, I'll make an effort.

Morning folks, currently comfortable temperature in south derbyshire, hopefully it stays like it. Currently in middle of factory shutdown, so a little busy at the minute. Went to another ex colleagues / mates retirement do last night, thats 3 in 6 days, got me seriously thinking I should jump ship and retire. Time will tell.

Its dull but warm here. I have given myself rather large blisters on my heels walking to the pub and back in shoes with no socks. So I’m sorted of restricted to what foot wear I can get on which in turn has limited my choice of activities for the day.

In my opinion, the weapon used was a knife. Whoa man, big knife come down from the sky! Look at that bird fly! Or was it a gun, coulda been a gun? Heh, take that you dirty critter! Or was it a rope? Dingly-dangly, my feet don't touch the ground. But that baby was a monster - that baby did a catarrh the size of Mount Rushmore! What was the question again?

This quote is mainly falsely attributed online to The Godfather 2 (not in that movie), or The Dispossessed by Ursula K Le Guin (not in that book). No it's not slightly rephrased within either of these, I've entirely searched through them, but of course you are welcome to! My guess is chatgpt comes up with these answers...? Please stop using chatgpt people!

It seems to have popped up about a year or so ago on the internet and is reposted all over the place. I've put it into tools that check it for AI, but nope, 100% human. Wikiquote turned up empty too. Can anyone find where this quote came from originally? It's driving me up a wall.

no joke it is from a random Nigerian guys linkden. i searched all over the internet for the quote a while back and that guys linkden was the earliest instance of it that i could find.

i’m 95 percent sure someone saw it and posted it on their facebook, then someone else saw that and posted it on their twitter, and then someone else saw that and put it into into an ai voice and video generator, and then someone put the ai voice into the “what you listening to son” meme format, and now people will confidently tell you it is from The Godfather, Neitzche, Cormac Mcarthy or Karl Marx.
