Morning

It's funny. It doesn't feel like a Tuesday.
Can the weather improve please?

Café somewhere today.
First coffee, then get the DW's off to school.

If this was 5am on a June morning, I'd be salivating at the possibilities.
It's 7:30 in March, and I can see the car needs scraping and hear the heating creaking.

Back to smelling the coffee.

Yep, chilly. Spot of ice needed scraping off the windscreen before headed north this morning. Been to dentist for a dose of financial pain, now on the train into town where the joy of a meeting with the auditors awaits.

Morning
We had white stuff falling out of the sky last night. However it’s bright and sunny but a bit chilly, so it will be finish coffee then walk Bertie. Before thinking what to do with the rest of the day.

Reminds me of a relative who was bragging that his discretionary fund manager had taken him out for dinner on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Was trying to explain to him that he'd actually paid for his fund manager's dinner but he wasn't having it.

that's materially different from retail/hospitality, the ones who don't get the freebies are paying for those who do, they get a lower return on the same spend

it's the same with offers/freebies on credit cards and store/airline/hotel loyalty schemes etc., every customer pays, but not every customer benefits - it's especially stark in the us credit card market where there's no cap on interchange fees and analysis shows it's the poorer customers who subsidise the benefits given to the richer ones, even those not using cards are paying more due to the interchange fees increasing cash prices

Yes, you should definitely eat as much cake as they offer you, as long as it doesn't result in you needing a new larger Armani shirt.

I'm worried about Harrods equipping their customers with candles: just how bad are they intimating to their customers that the coming energy crisis will be? 😉

New gravel bike got a muddy gravel christening ride today, including falling off (no harm done) and getting chain stuck between crank and frame. Chilly but dry, wind getting up a bit now though!

i try to compensate for the cake with extra riding, or extra coffee, which i'm sure must work too
