tiagra 10 speed how good

was wondering if anyone has any experience of the new 10 speed tiagra.Basically wondering how good is the quality.
are they a good set or are you wiser spending the extra on 105

any views appreciated

Can't comment on the 10 speed but I used to have the 9 and thought it fine. Then I built myself a new bike so I put 105 10 speed on, its a little smoother and more precise in operation so personally I prefer it. Down to differnce in cost between the two really, either one you'll be happy with.

From what understand about the way Shimano work, this year's Tiagra is most likely a previous 105.

Just like this year's Deore will be an older XT.

Tiagra finally seems like decent proposition as if it is crap at least you can easily upgrade.

I got the new 10 speed tiagra on my Cannondale. It seems fine to me,,its works ok, changes gear no problem. Apart from that can't really comment as i've never tried the 105 or any other ones.
