Now that's what I call a slack chain.

Tsk tsk.

Tyres are a bit flat too.

Nice big accessory bar above his handlebars though! I can just see him with an AVO computer, a pair of Ayup lights, seventies-style bottle rack and GPS, just set the rest of the machine off nicely

That does seem to be the "basic model"

I've since seen some with a double chain ring, with a foot long gear lever projecting from down tube, up past top tube, looks lethal.
No rear derailleur or other chain tensioning device, slack chain in high gear, slacker chain in low gear.

And I've yet to figure out the accessory bar - none of them use lights even in full darkness.

I had a ride on one of those bicycle rickshaws in Bangladesh once, it was bloody terrifying. And when we got stuck in the mud and hopped off for a moment and I put out a hand to help the poor sweating driver to push it my Bangladeshi colleague bollocked me!

I've got a similar sysem with one of my bikes... i have to pull on the brake cable to get the rear wheel to stop because of brake lever/brake type issues...
