Time to fix gas & electric?

My contract, with Octopus Energy, expires October 12th.
With the price cap, I think, changing on the 1st, I can sort a new contract with them with no exit fees payable.
Good idea? What say the CC Massive?

With the price cap going up by a supposed 23% I'd suggest yes.

I fixed mine for 2 years about 6 weeks ago.

I’m moving house on Thursday and the new house is on Octopus, I’ve contacted them to take over and they have offered to fix my price too.

Scottish power aren't offering particularly good fixed, and considering we've really cut energy use in the last 6 months they are demanding a significant increase in monthly amount considering I'm £550 in credit. They have a cap tracker, standard and a fixed which is in the region of 20% higher now. I'm holding off on my offers currently.

I fixed myself about 3 months ago, because Martin said fix now if you can.
I was just out of my contract with Octopus, I'm now fixed for 2 years with Focus, whoever they are.
A the time the deal was cheaper by only a few pounds a months, but with the increases forecast for January, I have definitely gained.
I don't care who the provider is, it's not like they can go bankrupt and leave me without services.

I switched to Octopus Intelligent Go (from agile) a few weeks ago, and that is fixed for 12 months.

My current deal with Octopus expires on 27th this month and today I fixed for another year.
