I haven't been bothering with the camera as most drivers have been polite and considerate.
This week I have been leaving a little earlier and although I now miss the school run and traffic is therefore lighter the muppets seem to be about more as well.
I had a close pass just round the corner from home - no need as there is a large hatched area as the centre line along the road.
The second one was at the Ripple Road roundabout on the A13. I come down Lodge Avenue and take the A13 west. The traffic lights under the flyover had just turned red and I was holding the centre of the left hand lane to turn right. There was a car already stopped in the centre lane. Some doppy mare with more peicings than braincells passed me and cut in front to stop at the lights.

Me - What was the point of that ? It didn't get you anywhere.
DM - You were in the middle of the lane and you don't have any lights or nufink only a hi-viz top. (This is 8:15 in a morning with not a cloud in the sky)
Me - Well your an ar5e ! ;)

I'm sorry, but involuntary euthanasia is the best thing for these people.

I'm going through a very welcome quite patch at the moment. Very few problems on the road at the moment. But never let that lull you into a false sense of security. Just as you can have a quite patch, you can suddenly be hit by a splurge of muppets (splurge being the plural for muppets apparently ;)).

Just make sure your camera is as easy to use as possible so that it can fit in with your normal routine of going out on the bike.

Yes, I really should get my ATC out again. It got put away for the winter as I only commute in the dark then.

I've been gifted by a quite patch. Not a single problem all month. Not even an overtake that was slightly less that perfect...but then I've also not been on my bike all month ;)

Quite a quiet time for me too at the moment ! ;)

Bah! You don't love for my spelling!

Or your grammar.. ;)

No, I love you for the twinkle in your eye, your handsome knees and for the fact that you're so fastidious in keeping your new bike spotlessly clean :?:

Ah, not so fastidious! I haven't cleaned the bike since I got it! That is why I've been avoiding the rain, although it did get a soaking a week or so ago when I was heading up Crow Road (rain and hail!!).

Also when your talking about handsome knees, are you talking about my left one or my swollen right one with all the op scars?

Meanwhile......back at the thread.
I posted elsewhere about my three close passes whilst out yesterday.

I have a solution. Vote for me as Prime Minister, and I'll make it a legal requirement that cyclists carry a vapourising ray gun. It will also be a legal requirement that they be used at every suitable opportunity. Oh, and you must call me "Your Amazingness." Is it a deal?:?:

I like swollen things best

(And now, I'll hand you all back to the thread before my little joke starts giving people the wrong idea about me !!)

I was going through a great patch until Thursday night ;). I was turinng right (off the A34, 2 lanes each way at this point) and waited with some cars until it was red. Started to pull out when seemingly out of nowhere a taxi jumps the red light and narrowly misses clipping my front tyre (and another car which had also started pulling out). From his speed he looked like he was doing 40mph+ (30 zone). Another driver wound his window down and enquired if I was allright muttering f**ing taxi drivers under his breath as he pulled away.

Despite the speed I have managed to get both the reg, taxi number and company that he works from my video footage. Going to send it all off tonight.

Incidentally I think I saw the taxi again this morning but wasn't 100% sure, after previous incidents I like to make sure I am certain before I start ranting.

Wouldn't go anywhere without my camera now.

My theory about no camera and me having more incidents was proven again today  I was on the road bike and never had time/ wanted to transfer the camera mount. I had a HGV me at a pinch point, he did wait behind me there. But once must to much he decided not to at the next one pinch point and overtook. I didn't mind that too much but before he was 3/4 past he proceded to left hook
