I always get them in my eyes, as I never wear sunnies when commuting 'coz I don't think I go fast enough. The worst I ever had was a bee square on the eyeball at 45mph when descending quite a steep hill. That was quite the surprise.

I ride with Bloc goggles on. Reason I bought them down to the fact I got hit in the eye by a bee a few years ago. I then discovered that on chilly winter morning they're great at stopping the weepy eye

Surrey Canal in Peckham had a nice midge curtain.

I had to do the Rio Ferdinand top floppy lip to stop then getting in!

Flies, wasps and bees seem to be attracted to bright yellow. One of my commute routes is via a wooded route and on some evenings most noticably when it is still light at 2130-2230 i would get home covered in crawling little black flies.

My Flourecent pink jersey/shell seems noticeably less attractive.... Or at least that's my excuse for wearing pink!

the bridge over the river lea on the Lea Bridge Road has a dip that appears to have been built purely for the goal of concentrating flying insects

my reaction are slowly disappearing but my involuntary reaction are ninjaesque, something rather large went in but was instantly trapped into the cheek/lip and spat out with gusto before I knew what happened
