Hi all,

Thanks for the advice. In the end I went for 2012 Defy 1. Bought for £575 off Gumtree in mint condition. Took it to lbs for service and only needed chain replaced as it did 99% of miles on turbo trainer so all other components were fine.

Going to venture out today for blast and oficialy start my L2P training!

One quick question, it has One23 road pedals - will these work with Look style cleats and shoes? I have some mtb Shimano spds that I can use in meantime, but will probably invest in some proper road shoes.

Cheers

Sorry Lumix & everyone else.

I know this is not the place but what the heck.

I have some new unused/boxed road shoes for sale (wrong size didn't return in time for refund) Northwave aerlite 3, carbon soles, white & blue colour. What size are you ?

Also have 2 pairs brand new/boxed unused pedals - Look Keo 2 Max in white/black decals (came free boxed with bike) & Time RXS Racer in white/red decals.
Both new boxed cleats booklets etc.

I am selling for fit, don't use reasons & to fund either upgrades on my bike or another bike.

Sorry again if this is a 'Bad' post.

Will post stuff on proper page when my thick brain catches up.

Edit.

Just thought it might benefit @Lumix (road shoes etc).

Also - was it the white & blue Defy 1 you got as owned by @Kies ?

The best looking of all the Defy's if so.

Yeah, it's the white and blue. And yes, it is quite a looker :-)

You did very well to get the white one (2012) - just for the record - they are the fastest of the lot :-)

The 2012 avail wsd version of the defy will take giants own mudguards or cruds but 23mm tyres better, 25s rub

Mandatory on L2P ? or have they waived that rule now I'd check first as I've seen riders turned away from wet Audax rides but that was years ago. I stopped doing organised rides when I found I enjoyed the freedom of cycling solo more, just being able to meander down village streets and maybe try out a beer or two at any interesting pubs I passed instead of incessant cycling. Still do the mileage though^_^

those Defy specifics guards look the ticket. Audax rides are great if you have the time and want a structured event. i prefer setting off and finding my own way. forum rides and the Fridays are great for social riding.

Nope I have a new bike yet to be ridden. Only buying British bikes from now on not that I am buying anymore bikes I can't ride so I'll keep an eye for cyclist. Need to cancel cycling plus now I've had my three £1 issues, waste of money. Will stick to cycling active for the rest of subs and women's cycling, still to read the latest one
