I haven't paid for a haircut since the mid 90's, and have no intention of starting now! My current hair clippers (Philishave C486) have served me well for over 10 years and although the clippers still work, the charging adapter has given up, and it seems that replacement chargers are not available (plenty of shaver leads available, but not for clippers).
Any other DIY barbers out there who can recommend a good set of clippers for around £50? Wahl seem to get a good reputation, and I like the look of these.

I'm using these Wahl clippers from Boots. They're excellent and can be used wet or dry. A bargain at £21.99!

BaByliss clippers with ceramic cutters. Have had them for 10+ years, bought from Argos.

Bought some Moser clippers (cheap) in the winter: my barber says they're the BEST! Who am I to argue?

Apart from when being on holiday, I've cut my own hair since the early 90s. It'd be interesting to see what I'd look like if I let it grow.

Moser = Wahl.

Wahl are the way to go, as everyone else has said. Good quality for a affordable price.
When I do Hubster's hair/head I use Heinger Cordless clippers but, as they are top quality dog clippers (weapon of choice for about 60% of us nowadays) they might come in over budget for just a bit of hair strimming.

I believe whal do cheap ones and pro models. Mine, I think the taper, is a pro model. A pro model anything for £50 is a bargain in my book, so I'd not be economising here. Having had a cordless (admittedly not a Whal) I'd not that route

Another vote for Wahl. I still use my original freebie set given to me as sponsorship deal 20 years ago. They have a factory shop and also sell via eBay if you want a real bargain.

Do you put a muzzle on him just to be safe, or is he a good boy and sits still? :biggrin:

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Mr WD uses a Philips one with about 6 different attachments. He seems to like it well enough. It cost around £35.00.
