I saw this advertised on ebay recently, and simply couldn't help bidding on it.
on collecting the cycle & speaking with the daughter of the original owner (her father), the bike was bought new in 1939 (he was 9). Apparently he wasn't very happy?..........he'd asked for a Raleigh!!.
He was told they were too expensive.
