I'm really sorry Mr Magoo but the UK has be the world number one in the creation of bullsh!t qualifications. Lifeguard, awesome, been there done that (though I believe it's tougher these days), nice job.
And your evidence for this?
Bikeability and MTB Trail Leader, WTF!!!
Let me see, Bikeability: teaching (mostly) youngsters how to ride safely on the road - piece of cake, really. Just think up anything you like, to teach them, a bit of Highway Code. Of course, what you might teach could be different from someone else's idea, but a bit of confusion never did anyone any harm, did it.
Let me see, MTB Trail Leader: I'm taking a bunch of people, maybe kids, out mountainbiking and I've done some MTBing, so I should know what to do. I vaguely remember some first aid, I know about how to ride drop-offs, I can read a map, sort of, (do I add or subtract magnetic north variation?) what can go wrong?
It's seem within days of the creation of any new type of activity or sport a governing body needs to be created and subsequent qualifications defined.
Again sorry to rag on your achievement, as I'm guessing passing was not a walk in the park, but I really question the value behind a lot of these qualifications.
If you "really question" the value behind such qualifications, on what basis, with examples, please.
