What do you have to do to become a Moderator on this forum?
Who are the Moderators?
Is there a right of appeal if you earn their disapproval?

Just wondering.

So far, recruitment of moderators has been done by vote.

Me and the mods suggest a few people who we feel would make good moderators, and the ones that are suggested the most are invitied to become mods.

Not everyone accepts, and some try it for a while then revert back to being non-mods.

There's no requirement for any particular mod to agree with me or the other mods, and quite a few discussions conclude with a decision going the other way to how the discussion starts.

Surprisingly too, the mods quite often give people the benefit of the doubt or take no action at all.

In terms of identifying moderators, I let each moderator decide for themselves. They are here, just like the rest of us, to browse the forums, and since they give up their free time to keep CC spam free (and help me manage the forums) I feel it's only right to let them keep themselves to themselves.

Right of appeal; not really sure what this means. If you've done something to warrant moderation, then yes, you can PM me and discuss it with me if you think me and/or the mods have been unfair. Even if you're banned, you can still us the Contact Us link to email me, so yes, there is the opportunity to say something about any modding decision that may effect you.
