to cycle or not cycle home in pouring rain?

Don't mind cycling in the rain, but 10 miles in heavy rain might be a bit much. Who else is going to brave it?

I had this same dilemma, about 10 miles, but not so heavy rain... and wimped out, lol I walked to the train/tram station. Even while walking there I wished I had just bit the bullet and cycled home. Nevermind, I'll do that on Friday afternoon return leg. I just don't want to get so wet that the underwear gets wet too, that'd be bad times!

The thing that concerned me was that I don't have any cycling gear. So I'm trying to work out a list of things I'm going to ideally want to manage doing this commuting more often, including when it gets a little colder. Some quick drying winter tights & top are top of my list at the moment, and the socks, and shoes, and the lights.... eeeek, the list goes on!

Heavy rain seriously reduces visibility and mists up car windows. I avoid cycling in it for safety reasons.

I love it when you get to the point of being totally drenched and then you can play in all the puddles without a care !!

I don't like going out when it's raining, but don't mind it raining while I am out. Strange

A psychological issue as you are aware. Now you know it, break it. Next time you see it raining through your window, go out and play for a few miles

I cycle home in the rain no problem, provided I have my lights and I can see more than 50yds in front
