To flash or not

To me this just shows the importance of having one of the lights steady, even before dusk it is hard to judge the speed of a cyclist if they just use a flashing light!

No arguments from me, I just posted the video for general interest. No other reason.

Agree - I see lots of people with only a flashing front light, and I also find it difficult to judge speed - particularly on unlit cycle paths. I go for one constant, one flashing (both front and rear). My Smart 1W has a fairly obnoxious strobing flash mode, so that one stays on constant!

My rear I normally have flashing in town and then change it to constant in rural areas.

the front I'll have flashing (if i've stolen the wife's light - mine is only on or off) on muggy overcast dull days just to be noticed when it's not really dark enough to need lights.

I deliberately made the light mount for my wife's rear light so that it does move about a little bit due to bumps in the road, so that a constant light will occasionally look like it's flashing to draw a little attention to it.
