The the cyclist I was chasing down this morning - I'd have had you if I hadn't got a nice large sliver of glass first
The cyclist who stopped and asked if I had everything I needed - My thanks
The rest of the bastards who just past by - FU2

maybe they sympathised with you, but had no kit on them to help (like moi, as would not know how to mend one anyway lol), so carried on.

hah. I only ever see a few bikes on my commute and do offer...but don't wait for a reply . Nah, I do, and have a pump and things they could use - other than that I'd be useless

I had a puncture mare the other day when an old patch gave way!

Muchos thanks to the one guy who did stop and was very sincere in his offer of help.

Can't blame others for not stopping though as I don't always feel like that either.

oh please

I'll offer to help to anyone looking helpless, if they''re getting on with it like any competent cyclist should, fine

I don't even carry any tools on my way to work -- fixing a puncture would take longer than walking to the nearest station and taking a train.

I'd offer if I thought the person needed help and had tools though.

I always ask in passing.

But then I don't think cyclists do enough to acknowledge each other out there.

As DJ said, this may be more in cities, I pass only one or two cycling on my way to work and when on weekends 99% of the cyclists I pass smile, say hi or at least a nod as we pass each other.

Having said that I can only remember one elitist c**k on some swanky road bike with matching orange glasses, helmet lycra and freckles who looked at me like scum and ignored my cheery "Morning, hows it going?" Not that I am judging him and making assuptions of his character of course.

What happens if they are pretending as they are intimidated by your cycling speed and general prowess and dont want to look like a 'beginner'?
