That sounds horrendous, glad that all was well in the end, I've had a couple of occasions where I needed the services of the NHS in the last few years and they've been excellent.

Hope you are fully recovered soon, Mrs V.

One of the scariest times of my life was when my Mum, then in her mid 80's, started to choke on a bit of meat at a local restaurant.

Luckily, I had done a First Aid at Work course and administered the big thump between her shoulder blades (not sure if that is still the correct procedure now days) which dislodged the errant piece of food and one set of her dentures! She wasn't impressed at being beaten up by her big brute of a son. I was just grateful that I had been paying attention during the training!

It was an object lesson in how quickly a situation can go from good, to bad, to very bad, but fortunately in her case on that day, back to good again.....

Thing is, if she'd popped her clogs I'd have got a big enough insurance payout to get a Winnebago.

Mixed fortunes......

It's often at times like this, when life and its 'foibles' are brought into very clear perspective, that we give consideration what we really have - and find an amazing amount of gratitude. :heat:

GWS Mrs V - and go easy on the guy - we love him here ... :hugs:
