I work at home.
I always intend to go out for a jog or a cycle ride, but all too often I end up at 5 or 6 pm, thinking 'I'll just finish this bit of work' and not getting any exercise at all.

OH commutes 13 miles each way by bike. So I'm going to try for a couple of mornings a week, setting out at the same time as him and doing half of his route then looping round back home, then a shower, 2nd breakfast and get on with bashing the keyboard. Started today as the weather forecast was good.

Why am I telling you all? Because if someone comes on here in a couple of months time and asks me how the commuting is going, I want to be able to truthfully answer that I've managed to do it a couple of times each week. So the thought that someone might ask may help to motivate me in the dark mornings or when it drizzles all week...

A fantastic way to cycle commute when you work from home and a brilliant idea. Well done!

I guess you could go further then halfway eventually and maybe ride with your OH all the way to his work and then back again.

It was nice and sunny this morning - lovely ride (but needed bottom gear on some hills that really weren't that steep!).

I'm not cycling with OH - I'd slow him down no end! And the first 150 yards is uphill so he'd drop me right away. However when I've done it a few more times I might persuade him to wait for me at the top of the hill, and then judge my improving (or otherwise) fitness by how long I can keep up with him!

I will also vary the route as well - I can easily make the loop longer, or set off in another direction altogether. I live in a small village with countryside all around. I might even deliberately include hills... (gulp...)
