Sometimes it feels good, like things are changing. You get a nice uneventful run into work and you think "I'm getting more of these recently"
Then today
Its one of those days and I'm half a mile from work. One cross road and a mini roundabout till I'm there. I'm on the major road at the crossroad and going to turn right. The lights are on green, but there's oncoming traffic. I was the last vehicle through the previous lights and I know by my backwards looks I was on my own when I got here.
Green arrow to the right comes on and oncoming traffic halts. So I go. Now I know from experience as recent as this week that the road I'm entering has stood oncoming traffic and that a secondary position can encourage close overtakes. So whilst I pass the queuing dozen cars and one wagon I hold primary, then swiftly move to secondary.
At which point the following driver in the black (astra?) with his nearside window down feels its right to yell "F*****ng idiot"
There was a momentary retort from the airzound
Thoughts going through my head of various ways I like to respond, from the sensible responses rebutting all his potential reasons for doing it, to wishing I had a camera, to thinking a piece of 2x2 has just found a new home!
Eventually I let it go, but not before thinking "how long will it take to get the message across"?

I guess the positive to that is, if it wound him up, then it's because it prevented him passing in the previous 50 yards, which otherwise he would have done.
The reason I was in primary was to prevent close passes within that 50 yard stretch.
It worked.
I'm safe.
He's an ignorant pillock.
I just hope in vain someone comes out with a method of educating pork
