Aw - I thought you were still touring when I saw those.

The only German I learned, travelling across the country 30 years ago. Absolutely essential. Needed no other German in 4-5 days. "Ein stuck bitte" - which means "One slice please".

As for touring, I am still abroad and due to get back to Leeds at the weekend.

Yes, I'd choose that one ahead of the chocolate. I like something with a little tartness like lemon.

It seems to me that on the continent "nice" cakes and pastries are the norm, whereas here the norm is have have mass produced rubbish - often with pictures of cartoon characters on the top - and you have to go to specialist shops/cafes for anything made with a little care & attention.
