I've never got on with white pepper--it smells like byre to me.
Well observed!
I'm not sure that everybody tastes/smells this sensation, furthermore White Pepper varies greatly in quality and freshness, so not all White Pepper produces this characteristic.
White and Black Pepper are major ingredients in our products and often I'll describe development sample as tasting 'Cat's Pissy' which I reckon is pretty much the same as your 'byre'. Not everyone picks it up though.

Is an Indian Potato Pie. My first pie in eight weeks. It's fresh from the oven.

Baking activities are now suspended after pyrotechnic display delivered by the oven element burning out a minute after the removal of the pie from the oven.
