In manchester for the day ambling around, i'm crossing on portland street having just walked up oxford road when a cyclist heading down portland, scoots past the traffic and straight through the ASL so i say loudly "Red means stop m8"
to which he pulls in and removes his headphones (saw me talking but couldn't hear me) and asked what i said, so i repeated it, red means stop, even for cyclists
his response?
"Yeah what of it?"
*sigh*
ensue me telling him he's giving us all a bad name and frankly its dangerous, he's a statistic waiting to happen. what does he do? tells me to "shut up and don't get involved"
not sure where he was going with that one but i told him straight i am involved i'm a cyclist myself and he's demonstrating why car drivers flippin hate us.
he just kept saying to keep my mouth shut and looked like he was going to get off his bike and stomp over, but then i pointed out his light was now green and he buggered off.
would have been nice if he had got off and took a swing, certainly felt like he was going to. its just as he went sailing through i felt i couldn't NOT say anything you know, he's clearly just broke the law and is adding ammunition to other road users.
plonker.

know what you mean, sometimes you dont know whether to say something or not, good on you for saying your bit. society has changed,, we are worried to speak out against people, and they in return feel they have all the right in the world to argue the toss, or even puch you for pointing out they broke the law and given us a bad name

I am more then happy to shout after cyclists who zoom past me while I am sat waiting at the lights, the other day was sat in the ASL with #3, when one decided he could make the left turn before the cars coming from the right, he only just made it..
I looked down at Fynn & said very loudly "And that is how you don't ride a bike" which caused the driver & passenger in the open top car just behind me to have a little chuckle. At least they know now that not all cyclist are pratts!!

People just don't accept being pulled up for their actions. You can't even tell kids off without their parents going off on one ! (Don't get me started on that).
