Never one to miss an opportunity to turn garden fruit into booze, I enjoyed a kir made from homemade white wine and homemade creme de cassis.

Moved on from the wine and onto the whisky. This Glenlivet is bottled at cask strength and is 63.1% so a little splash of water is needed and really opens up the flavours

Malted barley. Cereals. Hops. Yeast Water. That's it. No 'chemicals' there, although the locally sourced Nene water is full of everything from effluent radioactive waste.

Now you come to mention it, I did once try to synthesize aspirin from willow bark, as part of an A-level chemistry project. I don't recall it being a resounding success.
