Just heard that he died this morning. A great actor and a sad loss.

Never a bad idea

I remember the old days, when a big Hollywood actor died, you could guarantee a certain film would be scheduled in soon as a tribute - sometimes the next day in a chance of programme. These days, with DVDs and stuff, that doesn't seem to happen so much. And they don't seem to have seasons of films any more - well, they might, but more in the daytime. Films in the evening on telly seem to be rarer than they were. Or maybe I'm just missing stuff because I don't buy a listing magazine.

That said, I did catch half of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid last week, but only because I was home in the afternoon babysitting my nephew.

I was going to point out the mini Paul Newman season last week! I recorded the movies and watched all but BCATSK (I didn't bother because I've seen it so many times before).

Great film - it was the first film that made me laugh out loud. I liked him in Operation Petticoat with Cary Grant too.
