We bought beer to make shandy, our favourite refreshing tipple.

We even managed a shandy at work yesterday after work - we found an unopened bottle of Fosters in a recycling box in the morning, so we bought a bottle of lemonade and put them both in the fridge for the afternoon.

Talking of which, time to open the bottle!

Where do you get that? I can't drink alcohol because I'm Muslim. Does it taste like the 'real stuff'?

Would it make any difference?
I mean, if you can't have real beer then you won't know if alco-free beer tastes right or not.

I was just about to apply liberal amounts of Stella Artois Cidre, had just opened the drawer and pulled out the opener when I got a text message which meant I had to dash out pdq. By the time I got back the moment had passed. What's worse is that Mrs Doseone had fried the chicken breasts I had been marinating for the bbq. So I missed out on both the booze and the bbq, but got to fall asleep in front of todays recorded TDF highlights by way of consolation.

Well me and the missus did enjoy a nice Friday night, but Saturday was much more relaxed without the daughter, just us and a a lovely restaurant then we headed to the travellers friend in Woodford to finish up..

I am glad it is not just me that thought that

I have Muslim neighbours. Chatting to one of the young men many years ago he let slip that his bottle of cola had vodka in it but I wasn't to tell his mum as she wouldn't be happy to know he was drinking.
He used to carry a bottle of cola nearly every time I saw him. I reckon he was 'cheating' a bit back then.
