As you might have seen from my status update, my niece had a perfect baby boy yesterday. Today, I've found out what else happened.

So my brother David and his wife Sharon got a new grandson (as above). They haven't seen their (8th) grandson yet because they were away in Croydon at Sharon's niece's wedding and heard the news waiting for the ceremony to start. Missing from the wedding was the brides sister, the planned maid of honour, who was in labour at a nearby hospital. News of the birth of her child came through just as the ceremony finished.

So for Sharon, in the space of one hour there were two births and one wedding in her immediate family. How happy do you think she is?

Bleedin' relatives trying to upstage each other - wot sort of family is that!

Seriously though -these things are excellent news and the only downside is trying to fit in all the visits

So in a few years time do we get a new thread about teaching junior how to ride a bike? Congratulations.

That's lovely news, and speaking as a journo I wish you all lived on my patch, contrary to popular belief we actually love doing good news stories to gladden the heart.
