I first heard the word Chav when I was at school in the early 70's, my mate Pat Brooker (who's family were travellers but at that time were travelling Fairground folk) told me that his sister had a Chavy on the way, I had no idea what he was on about until he explained. Later in the eighties when I was in a band with Pat, he told me his girlfriend was chavved up.
