Alan Garner (2004) Thursbitch. Another stunning, immersive but utterly otherwordly reflection on history, landscape and people. (This was my only choice that coincides with The Times' recent Top 100 Books of the Decade...)

I read this a couple of weeks ago. On a sunday night. I had to read it all in one sitting and couldn't sleep till about half four afterwards. I was knackered at work! I know a couple of people who'd really enjoy it as well.

I've looked it up on the maps and fancy a wander as I've been past and around that way a lot in the last few years.

How the decade? The decade has another year to run yet. Is nine the last number in a sequence of ten?
