Technically it is the only correct response to your title question and OP as you requested 'places' not countries or regions that others have given ;).

Plus it's an ok place especially the Humber Bridge .

Couldn't you make your poll a private poll?

You have omitted Russia, China, The Middle East, India and Central America .

I do have a hankering for those far-flung places that I'll get on on my RTW trip one day.

But you know what? We're very lucky to have Europe on our doorstep with fantastic varied climates, cultures and scenery with (generally) safe and civilised governments providing good infrastructure for the travelling cyclist, with no visa requirements for UK nationals. It's a wee bit pricey, mind you...

Here's my Euro-wish-list in no particular order

Corsica
Slovenia
the Massif Central
the Dolomites
the Picos de Europa

I am totally with you on this one. US/Canada doesn't appeal due to car-centric nature of country and lack of back roads on long stretches (hmmm, 150 miles of riding the hard shoulder of an interstate highway, nice!). Developing countries hold no appeal whatsoever and even the UK is on my shitlist due to the need for intricate route planning to avoid busy roads and the appalling lack of respect for cyclists from drivers.

*edit - and it needn't be pricey if you're happy roughing it a little.
