seeing thousands of migratory geese coming/going to roost at dusk/dawn
seeing a Bewick's/Whooper swan family flying overhead on migration
watching adders 'dance'
standing on the shore, where the ocean meets the land and walking the line between two very different worlds
having a wild bird feed from your hand
seeing a wild bird take to the air for the first time
having a wild lizard climb onto you
seeing a sparkle in the eyes of someone you love as they look at you
saving an injured wild animal
teaching people, in some way

slightly wildlife centred, but that's the way i view things most times.

EVERY rail enthusiast should go to Wolsztyn in Poland to drive and fire the steam locos at least once in their lives.

Too many enthusiasts now have nothing to relate to with steam engines and quite wrongly assume that they are boring or for the general public who are obviously too stupid to know any better

I saw them as they were intended, in their natural habitat as it were and not just as some sort of museum exhibit!

  1. Fly an aircraft - no feeling like the instructor getting out and saying, "You're on your own, pal"
  2. Jump out of an aircraft - no feeling in the world like skydiving
  3. Learn to play a musical instrument In the process of doing so.
  4. Learn a foreign language
  5. Witness a human birth Seen several. Best was the arrival of my daughter
  6. Sleep rough Been wild camping. Does that count?
  7. Help with a charity
  8. Attend a rock concert
  9. Learn to ski It's not graceful though.
  10. Go on a protest rally to parliament
Nice list. Done a few and would like to do numbers 1 and 4 but not bothered about number 10. I would suggest learn to SCUBA dive. For all those who've never done this it is the nearest you'll get to visiting another planet.

(Just explain to me, why he is still posting but his tally never goes up. It's like one of those nightmares where you are walking up stairs at work in your slippers and never getting to the top)

That's easy he deletes an earlier message and posts a new message to replace it.

I'm a paediatric critical care nurse, sometimes you spend a span of shifts battling against all odds to save a child or baby. During that time you build up a unique relationship with the family.

There's nothing like it when they come back to visit on their way home, with happy smiles. Makes all the bad times worthwhile.

  1. Learn a foreign language

I once spent the entire drive from the euro tunnel to a campsite near Paris reversing the French for "Hello Mrs, I have reserved a pitch at your campsite"

When I walked into campsite office, the nice French lady said "Ah hello, you must be Mrs H!" before I had a chance to get my well reversed phrase out! Furious!
