I actually sent a girl in our office, who had worked here for 4 years to a colleague to show her a long weight, she actually went!! It caused a lot of amusement when she had gone!Not to mention the long weight.

Go to a proper builder's merchants (not B&Q etc) and you'll likely find a "gift pack" with two or three levels.

An 8-footer (gufaw!) makes it soooo much quicker and easier to lay a patio than fiddling around with pegs and bits of string! (lay a slab, plonk the level on, lay next slab, plonk the level on both slabs, etc!)

sniffff...I hope it wasn't a dumpy level he was after. And I know that dumpies are old school, replaced by modern automatics, but I still think of them as dumpies.
Of course, you'd need to buy a staff, and a chain boy too but it is christmas....
