Anyone done one?
I’ve been invited to do one but it’s £125 and frankly that’s a lot of money to run around a field and get muddy.
Having played rugby for 25 years and run marathons it’s not really anything I haven’t done before.
Or is it?
Would you guys recommend it?

I knew a guy who signed up for it but then didn't do it.

I know some other people who did do it.

I didn't do it.

I've not done one, but I've marshalled and been first aider at a few. Don't enter into it lightly.

Yeah I was surprised when I read the blurb. it’s 15km of cross country running plus 40 obstacles. The obstacles can take a long time to tackle.
So it’s 3-4 hours in a muddy field.

The obstacles can be dangerous unless youre near the front of the pack. Once mud is strewn across the log-built obstacles they become slipperier than a politician and a lot of folk would slip and fall onto the logs themselves. Not good.

One of the tougher runs, some of the obstacles are pretty grim. They used to have a crawl and or a run where you try to dodge hanging wires / string that give you little electric shocks. Icebath enemas which are basically a skip full of ice you climb in and out of.

@Beebo

If you want to get muddy/run a lot/probably find a lot more cheerful bunch of people, try Fell-Races

A lot cheaper too, a few years ago, l did a weekday evening series that was £3 entry
(no prizes/no land rentals/obstacles to build/etc)

Surprisingly, it's still £3
It was one of my favourite short races, not easy though!!

This was another fun one, near Haworth
(the name is because you pass 'Top Withins' on the return, which is always referred to as the model for 'Heathcliffes house in 'Wuthering Heights')
