I expect some huge time gaps tomorrow and the GC to be sorted.
Such a pity the Queen stage clashes with San Sebastian, after such a quiet calendar week.

Its a pity the Queen's stage is so GC pivotal. The climbs so far have been easy. Will be interesting to see Vollering Vs Gigante and who knows else? I get the feeling the top riders have been holding back for this.

I'm in 2 minds whether it's been gradually building up nicely or whether the last 2 stages routes have been a bit bland.

Pleased to have been introduced to Squiban.

9 stage race ... everything is compacted . There is at least a chance of a reversal on Sunday. We have had a few yellow jerseys so far and likely another ..4/5 changes in 9 days . Not bad

Given how she’s been descending, Gigante will be relishing the fact that the mountaintop finish has finally arrived,
It’s been so cagey, it’s hard to gauge who will come out on top.

Well that certainly answers the question whether Le Court Pienaar can hang on the big climbs. She said in an interview it's down to her menstrual cycle. She isn't feeling too well because of that. Not sure if the legs can then get better by tomorrow. Maybe she ought to swallow her pride and... 😉😂

Why did Squiban lose so much time? Doing what she has 2 days in a row, it might have paid off hugely to keep her in GC contention.

I don't know ... but maybe she was working for teammate Elisa Longo Borghini in the early stages (before she withdrew) so did some work for her and dropped back when finished. It might also be that, as a climber, she just wasn't that good on on the lumpy punchy early stages. Also, her team has lost 3(?) riders already so it's not like they have been able to do a lot to help her. Just thoughts ... could be wrong.

On the subject of Squiban I noticed that she's not in the white jersey comp, but is only 23. I did a bit of searching and Wikipedia (couldn't find anything more authoritative) told me that it's for riders under 23. ie 22 and under (and remaining 22 until the end of the year.)

I was a bit surprised to learn that (maybe I've just not been listening). Compared to the men's (where the limit 25 and under) I think that's sensible.
