You have to remember that the women's peloton is much smaller than the mens and there'd been ~30 withdrawls by the last stage. Vollering had Labous but really the race was about a small selection of elite riders so any team tactics faded as this group led. I honestly think everyone was pretty cooked by the end.
Oh I understand that, but I was talking about the final selection. What I was describing applies to the situation in stage 9 as well as generelly to every final selection of every race. If you needlessly let the strongest rider in the race or pretty much any professional rider just sit on, you will always get beaten. It isn't about team tactics, it's about basic racing intelligence.

Easy to say from the armchair that they should have taken turns attacking PFP but maybe they just didn't have the legs 🤷‍♂️

The thing is that podium places, or top 10 places in general, have a value. It's not 100% about the win.

In this case, PFP's lead over the next few places was more than that between those places, so if (eg) Vollering attacks, Gigante, NFB, and to some extent Kastelijn, Kerboual & Wlodarczyk get uneasy about their position and are likely to start to chase.
In addition, a half-hearted attack won't do anything, and a full on attack that's brought back is likely to result in losing places.

I think someone mentioned sigma sports cafe ride with Demi here's the link . She comes over very different to her race persona

I’ve only watched half and so far I’m impressed with her outlook and sense of humour.

I loved that. I thought how she was was initially quite shy but really warmed up with Matt. She also talked about her personality, how she’s basically an assassin on the bike but different off it, and it made me think about the discussions we had here.

I think being a pro cyclist must be such a hard job!

Demi cycling along with Flo was legit fabulous! I’m discussing options with my cats! 😁

A girl in my class next year is a promising cyclist and she’s getting into pro cycling too. I’ve sent her mum (who is my friend) the link for them to watch the film. It’s perfect for getting young girls into cycling!
