What’s the point
been having a look on the TDF official webpage and am getting confuddled after many years away from cycling ( was never a racer)

there is a section showing time schedules for stages

it shows Horaire which i assume is times but there are 4 sections under saying Caravane ,47, 45, 43. what do these mean? I assume Caravane is the main group but the other figures confuse me as they are much later than the caravane time.

help please
 
My French is not existant - but the Caravane sounds like the promotional cavalcade that goes through ahead of the actual race distributing freebies along the way.

Yes, Caravanne is the promotions and the other columns are the times which you can expect to see the riders at a given speed...so 47kph, 45kph and 43kph....

What’s the point
all becomes clear now Ta , and i did think about popping it into racing but wasn't sure.

just gotta remember to stick the TIVO on as i am working the weekend :sad:
