It'll be interesting to see if Tony Martin can become a GT contender. His lone breakaways in the latter part of the season were quite fun to watch, maybe he can start off with a few semi-classics or classics and then build up to GT?
He used to climb quite well but maybe decided to not bother trying or changed shape to do well in the TTs. As you suggest, he should really do well in the Cancellara. It must be slightly unsatisfying to do a 3 week tour and just tread water till the ITT or lead Cav out in a sprint. He's better than that.
