Tour of Britain 2026 Men & Women Thread (Spoilers!)

I plan to go ride yesterday's route in the near future - just one final loop though

I've done the Lincoln GP sportive which does a lot of the route and finishes up Michealgate which is brutal anytime but a 100 miles in it's a test and it's barriered off for the next days race and you got spectators cheering you on

but was that road specifically closed for the WToB ? their stage guide just mentions the standard rolling road blocks as youd normally expect for a tour of Britain race. Like last year I rode alot of the MToB route for stage 1, only start and finish were closed roads, and criss crossed the route aload of times and there were no road blocks that hindered us whatsoever, and at some parts the race was only maybe 10mins off the lead vehicles away from us.

whereas for Stage 4 here theyve mentioned specific fixed road closures and diversions, presumably to stop traffic creating a hazard on some narrow roads or preventing spectators parking where they cant reasonably enforce a noparking requirement. ?

Ok, I see your point.
I have the option of Cray from the North (Leyburn side) or Buckden.
Should be ok from the South, but that might mean riding over Fleet Moss from Hawes.

The delayed start, and later neutralisation, in the Women’s stage from Clitheroe were caused by broken down lorries and a separate rta blocking the road ahead of the race that couldn’t be cleared in time, so understandable that they want full vehicle closures well in advance.

I was wanting to go to the top of Greenhow which one of the big KOM climbs on Stage 4. There there will definitely be a road closure, hence my question. I rode that part of the route on Monday and it was pretty chilly with sqally showers at the top - hence me wanting to avoid hanging around for two hours. Weather is looking better though for this Saturday so maybe I'll just pack an extra layer.

Pack extra dry gloves and dry socks and layer was my thing
