Tour Of Britain: Exeter

Anyone going down? I'm thinking of riding in to catch the crediton sprint with some friends (will be too late for the start/climbs and my mate thinks Exmouth is too far).

i'm split between jumping in the car to watch the start, then drive over to Haytor for a KOM and then over to exmouth for a sprint finish. Or, spend 2.5 hours in the saddle upto Haytor watch all 2 minutes of them come past me and then 1.5 hours riding back home (Torbay (its down hill all the way))

Aye, I'll be there. The parents live in Exmouth, so i'm going down on weds, gonna cycle up to Exter in the morning for the start and then a leisurely cycle back to Exmouth for the finish. Hope the wind lets up by then.......

That's what we're doing, plus trying to watch the sprint at Crediton if we can. I'll have my trusty cowbell for the KOM so if you see a woman with short-ish blonde hair, making a lot of clanging noises, say hello!

the car is a good shout but I don't have one so I'm really feeling the picnic somewhere along the route and watching them all go past vibe. Need to source a way to carry lunch that is portable

Or maybe just find something to eat out there

Such a shame my friends haven't moved into Exeter yet otherwise I could pick which bits I watched fairly easily

i have tried to watch the race in places on one stage and found it really hard to beat the traffic but good luck if you do!

We might be a bit ambitious trying to catch a sprint and then get to the finish - we'll see! At the moment our car is in the garage so who knows where we'll end up...

Will keep an eye out. I'll also be with someone with a huge bleached blonde beard - they might be easier to spot than me!

I think I will probably just ride out to Silverton and get a few photos of them coming up the hill

If I wake up in the morning and it looks loverly, well I suppose I could get to Bovey Tracey in 2.5 hours and see them there and then make the finish

I'm up in Leicestershire having just watched yesterdays stage on ITV4 am now watching live tracking on tourofbritain.com . I also have Exmouth seafront web cam open to watch the end
