Looks like I'll be overwhelmed with cycling, two tour of Britain stages within 8 miles of home, plus the National Road Race passing just across the bridge in Wales :pump:

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Friday stage comes within about 5 miles of home - sadly I've got meetings all day.

@Scots - stop your whinging. You're only 5% or so of the country. One year without isn't going to be the end of the world.

Not here offten enough to argue
They dont do the whole of france in 21days, so how can you expect the whole of britain in 8. Its typical of some people to want everything

I don't expect every square foot to be covered, but to miss an entire countries poor form

The logistics are one reason of why the ToB doesn't come to Scotland very often.

Others include:
- much less interest in Scotland (smaller population, % interested in pro cycling)
- a long way to go to spectate (especially when you get to the real hills)
- less towns/ cities/ councils prepared to pay for having the event (viz NO Sky Ride/Rides in Edinburgh this year ...)
- too tough .. ;)

Weather is a bit 'variable' on other tours, so not an issue

Midges ?? The riders go too fast to be bothered - and midges are mainly a west coast phenomenon

Honestly, the midges are a real pain in the arse come summertime. They do provide protein at higher speeds (gulp!) but nonetheless they are devil creatures!!
