Sorry rich - I'll need photographic evidence of you actually eating it - and a clean plate

I'll be in Brighton in a few weeks - you could do a double or quits-type challenge!

If Chinny wins PR - you eat 2 helmets. If he wins PR you are free to eat what the hell you want.

Either way, we have to get exceedingy drunk, just on general prinicples.

Hmmmm, so if he wins PR I eat 2 helmets and if he wins PR I can eat anything?

I'll drink my fair share for sure!

Are you doing the Fnr, Mangaman?

Looks tasty, Rich! Not sure I'd want to see you trying to squeeze it out in the morning, though!

I reckon Fab blew it as he came up on the hoods far too early and probably didn't realise how close Nuyens was.

Great race, though.

I missed all this and just saw the results. I have to say that it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I've liked Nuyens ever since I read an interview and an article in one of the cycling magazines a few years back. He just seemed like a likeable and intelligent guy with a good attitude. He has a bit of a reputation for always having good early season form and not being able to stick it for the whole season, but when you win a race of this magnitude, who cares?

Sorry if these seems as if I'm rubbing it in FM.

But it was the best Tour of Flanders for years - and it's my favourite race. Cancellara kept attacking, time and again, but Chavanel, et al stayed with him - which cost him the race in the end.

The key was it coming to a sprint. Cancellara was probably the strongest rider in the race - even in the last few kms, but Nuyens just kept cool and nipped out of nowhere to win.

It was a proper classic in every sense.

Best race I've seen! Fantastic - all those in the first 15 or so were heroes! Great performance by G Thomas - he's got a hope in the future surely?
