This features some fearsome cobbled ascents, such as 'Shibden Wall' (Lee Lane), that (in 1988?) even made Sean Kelly take to the pavement in search of a smoother passage!
And Trooper Lane.............. it's supposed to climb approximately the height of Blackpool Tower, in 1/2 mile!!!
Gary(?) forget his username on here, has ridden it on his trike!

Anyone fancy Nibali’s chances? I was very tempted to pick him in the punditry, maybe even put a couple of quid on him. He’s an unknown quantity in this race but after MSR, it’s impossible to rule him out.
