Tour of the Southern Alps

The Bonnette is a fantastic climb and it's not like Piccadilly Circus like the Ventoux and Alp de'huez can be. We did it in the opposite direction last year although I expect we took twice as long as you, but then we were on loaded tourers.

You're right it is fantastic. That was not the impression I got from talking to people about it either, but I loved it.

I think one of the great thing about cycling up mountains, is how the different ascents up the same mountain can have such different characters. I'd love to climb every single col I did again, but from another direction.
