O.k. So I took a long vacation/ bike tour (1887 miles on a Brompton) a year ago on Friday. Why is it so fresh in my mind and I even find myself looking at blogs and websites of people cycling Japan or just living there cycling. Are others on here suffering from "touring withdrawal" from a trip that was a while ago? Or have I finally cycled past the edge of sanity?

Every time I see Debs and Tom cycling the world or read the latest travelogues I want to just pack the panniers and set off.

A you tube channel of a couple who decided to go and see the world by cycling it. Not bright young things like many of them but people who bit the bullet and just did it. Enjoyable to watch in my opinion and demonstrates it can be fun, tiring, frustrating at times but the ultimate cycle ride.

You're definitely insane, but in a good way.

After our Big Tour last year, I spent much of spring this year looking back at exactly where I was in Italy this time last year!

As the nights are drawing in and we start down the slippery slope to Winter, there's always going to be a pang of withdrawal from those lovely summer days on tour. I have a photo on the lock screen of my phone of me riding through Val Mora in the Swiss Alps this summer. It was a lovely summer's day and the cry of Marmots was in the air and no one around. Each time I glance at my phone it's there to remind me and I find my thoughts returning to that amazing Alpine Crossing. At the same time my thoughts also look forward to next year and what amazing adventures I can have.
