The cyclist was an idiot, but the white police man REALLY grated on me. Right clever twat he was, laughing and eye rolling.

In fact, all of the police in that programme came off as arrogant knobs. The one who was dealing with Precious/Primrose, why did he say that he could have dealt with it quicker but wanted to extend the 'game'? I thought the police were overworked, obviously not if they've got time to piss around playing a game in which a scared woman tries to lie her way out of trouble and just makes it worse. Sounds like a right laugh to me.

Have to admit, I love these "training" programmes on the telly. That bloke really did talk himself into trouble. The "Attitude Test" really does exist!

I am in two minds about the scale of the fine, when you consider the motoring offences, a BMW allowed to drive off with a bald tyre and no penalty after being equally gobby and a lot less respectful ?

These programmes are an enlightenment as to just how much you can get away with and how low fines for motoring offences actually are!

My kids love these programs so I usually get to see them ... the cyclist deserved what he got... but the others didn't get enough of a penalty. It also makes you realise how many people think they can blag their way out of trouble... I suppose its just different approaches ... the aggressive, blagger, be nice etc....

I'm hoping I would fall into the apologetic be nice group... though it does worry me that I might try and argue it with a policeman if they say said I shouldn't be riding in the middle of the road holding people up (primary) if I thought I was right .... (and I thought they didn't know the law properly) if so doesn't that make me more like the arragant guy who thought he was right - I hope not, and that I would try to point it out in a nice way..... I would definitely apologise if I accidentally went through a red light for example ... or something else through a lapse in concentration.

I have argued (successfully) with a PCSO.......

Waited until he had finished ranting about a red light, and pointed out that when I had entered the junction the first lights were green, as I was on the junction when the lights changed, I was not "jumping" the second set. He was adamant, so discretion being the better part of valour, simply apologised.

Following day took the helmet video to the Station and spoke to a very nice lady on the desk, who agreed that I was perfectly correct, and took the CD to show to one of the supervisinf officers who would have a word with the PCSO - I assume from the dirty look I got a few days later that this was indeed the case!

Have to agree in the same programme the lady called Primrose/Precious was priceless (no that was not the third name she admitted to).
She was driving on a provisional licence with no qualified driver alongside, and she constantly lied to the police officer about who she was. Resulting in a £40 fine and 3 points on her provisional licence. Surely she should have been nicked for no insurance as driving on a provisional would invalidate it. Great viewing though.

Similar experience: I used to go through a large junction and would sometimes stop at the end of a green light phase as I knew I wouldn't make it to the other side, especially in a headwind. One day I got the timing wrong and misjudged the wind strength under the flyover, so I pulled up at a small traffic island in the middle and a cop car came across the junction, slowed and gave me a load of verbal about being an idiot who was going to get killed. I started to speak and explain and he drove off. It's frustrated me to this day that, the injustice of it.
