Traffic police/cameras

Hi all, can anyone advice me on a contact point for either the Met police or the Transport police or maybe even TFL…not sure. I want to find out if any cameras on my route can help in gaining video evidence of an incident this morning at earls court (London).

jonny, if you want response from Met - you'd need to report the drivers behaviour - they'd then 'maybe' look at CCTV footage. Up to you if you want to go down that route but what happened to you this morning was not safe.

Thanks Guys,

Spoke to The Met (very helpful) and they have circulated the driver's vehicle description in an effort to pick him up on cctv elsewhere. Hammersmith and Fulham don't have cctv coverage on the area in question (although they will check the request from the Met to detect the driver elsewhere...he was very distinctive, what with the trailer full of toilets that he was pulling!)

Origamist....TFL "apparently" don't record on their CCTV, only monitor...not sure this is true as the police contradicted this...I guess it means they don't record for civil use.

Next stop is TFL busses in the hope that the two busses in the vicinity have some helpful footage, hopefully my previous contact with them may prove helpful.

Plus, for me to activate this, I need to make an Allegation at a local Police Station within 24 hours.

Looks like I'm off to Hammersmith nick.

They have cameras that do both, Jonny (monitor and record) - they often use the latter for enforcement purposes. Send a letter in as Data Protection Enquiry (not FOI) and see how it goes. That said, expect to be fobbed off.

In typical Jonny style, I was pretty calm and just dealt with it at the time. Now...Im furious and and happy to do everything possible to put muself in the same room as this guy trace the driver in question and bring him to justice.

I will write and let you know how I get on.
