My mate had one as a joke, he used to drive into work pulling a massive wheelie in it,one summers evening he drove past a packed popular riverside pub in chertsey doing a wheelie!when it landed there was a small engine fire which he managed to extinguish.on his return next day to retrieve the stricken plastic pig,he discoverd it had been pushed into the Thames !

I was driving a severely used Ford Transit in Islington when guy in a Robin Reliant thought he would cut me up. He miss judged and cut in too fine and he hit me. It was weird but the body seemed to disappear and the guy was sitting there like he was on a go kart. He stopped and ran back to beg me not to involve insurance or the police. I looked at the van and could see no discernible addition to its scarred surface so I waved him off. I have no idea if the body came off or was reduced to powder.

I confess to once having an Austin Allegro.........I know, I know, but it was a company car. All the stories you heard about it are true.

My first car was also an Allegro. I bought it from the car auction at Preston for £110 in 1980 when I was 18. I used it for about 18 months until the head gasket went and it used to smoke like one of the Red Arrows.
Gordon's Ford in Bolton gave me £400 trade in against a Fiesta.

I saw a "plastic rocket" out on the road the other day. It must've been one of the last ones as it was a B reg(beige in colour) if i remember rightly? I gave it the thumbs up as i tend to do when i see an old car, it's a thing i have when i see an old car when i'm out cycling. Anyway the driver gave me a wave back so it was a pleasant cyclist meets motorist moment which are few and far between.
