This is all about Storm Amy, if your making a journey by train today I hope yours went ok.
I've just finished a journey and had a question, well two really, about travelling assistance as we couldn't work out the answer and it wasn't announced on the train.
If after you'd started your journey, you get told "It's terminating at X Station and there are no trains to your destination today" is the train company obliged to get you to the destination, or just return you home? Or something else like give you a hotel?
Also as we were on the train it was announced "There is now a Do Not Travel warning in place and no assistance is offered if you choose to travel". Well that warning was not in place when we boarded, should assistance still be offered?
I'll probably ask someone at the station next time I'm there, didn't want to pester them today as they all seemed quite busy trying to deal with all the disruption (and luckily my trip was still ok).
FYI The route I was on today is Glasgow > London trains and they are now terminating at Preston, but this applies to any journey really.
