As far as I know, these are a perfectly good version of the Trangia. Same burner unit, just different style of pans and windshield. at the price, certainly worth a try.

They are very good, I've used one when motorcycle camping & really like it, lots of versatility with the pot/lid combinations & packs nicely.

You should get a fuel bottle included, just watch out it doesn't leak, mine has been fine but I've read warnings of meths leaking & tainting everything.

The only drawback being they are a little heavy compared to lightweight Trangias, aside from that brilliant value for money.

Long thread on them- http://www.bushcraftliving.com/forums

& a surprisingly large amount of videos on Youtube-

Leaking meths bottle solution.
Never put it in a pannier
Carry in a bottle cage on the underside of the downtube

They work well, my only criticism being that they are fairly heavy compared to the genuine trangia set. If weight isn't a real issue then they are fine but just a point.

Doc, would you be so good as to weigh it when it arrives, just for comparison purposes? (Although like you its gonna have to be a LOT heavier to put me off)

It is a great stove, I take mine on shorter rides, but for more than a couple of days I'll take my Mini Trangia 28 at 350g apposed to 900g of the army stove, though I prefer the Army stove to use.

The Army stoves are often wrongly referred to as Trangias, I believe they were/are made by "Svea".
The burner is still brass but larger than a Trangia & a little heavier, it doesn't come with a simmer ring, though a Trangia one will fit.

Edit- They are definitely made by Svea. Svea's "three crown" trade mark is on the burner & windhield.
Just read that Svea make Trangia! I can't confirm this, but the Army stove might be more Trangia than a Trangia is!

Just to add to all that...
I weighed them at just under 2lb, which comes to 900g. The ones through that Ebay link up there^^^^ are used - the Ebay ad makes this clear. I reckon you could cook for two using this and a little ingenuity.
I'll get some meths soon and try it out

I use a trangia 27 series when cycle touring with my partner. Great piece of kit, however my brass trangia burner developed lots of microcracks near the lid and needed replacing. A useful website I have came across is this one Trangia fuel names

It gives the names of methylated spirits in different countries and possible locations to find it.
