Hi there, if anyone is thinking of doing the TransAm, I've started editing and uploading videos (slowly), from my experience last year. If you want to have a look to see what all the hype is about, please do. Saying that, if you want to go for the unknown adventure, then don't watch the videos. Just do it!

Good old Carbondale. My University days , great cycling as well. Learned to dodge coal trucks.

Crazy coal trucks, I've got a chunk which I picked up off the side of the road as a souvenir lol.

Did not use the coal much in Southern Illinois for many years, because it was deemed "high sulphur". Until folk realized that "high sulphur" meant also "low mercury". A beautiful part of the state, nonetheless.

As a way of stating that, for many years, one did not have to contend with coal trucks on the highways of Southern Illinois. All states are gorgeous in their own way.

no worries, I just hope people watch and like the videos. Also it would be great if I helped/encouraged people to do the trip.
BigonaBianchi did it lat year too, but West to East. Really would have been interesting to compare videos

Simon i have quite a few videos, butnot consecutive like yours..i had uploaded them all to youtube but somehow the account got deleted when i deleted a google+ account...

yep...several hundred photos and lots of video clips on my cellphone....ha..it still seems more right to call it that than a mobile !

water...in rivers??? ...nah....didnt see that lol!
