I just tried cyclestreet for my commute from south east london to the city and it told me to cross the Thames via the woolwich ferry and cycle in through docklands. Very odd! I wont be taking that route in a hurry.

Looks like a normal busy cyclable A road to me.

Valid point, but I wouldn't dream of riding on it myself. They banned cycling at the same time as they dropped the speed limit from 70mph to 50mph (So cars only tend to do 60 now instead of 80+). There is a perfectly good 'A' road running parallel to it, which is the road I use for cycling to work.
